Northern Territory

The Message from the Northern Territory (NT) Minister for Youth is available on the NT Minister's page.

National Youth Week (NYW) has been part of the Territory’s youth calendar since 2000 and provides a brilliant opportunity for young people to share their ideas, take part in events and be involved. It’s all about recognising and celebrating the achievements of young people and the positive contributions they make to the community.

NYW 2011 was a record year, with over 200 events held across the Territory. Territorians are now preparing to celebrate NYW in 2012, which will be held from 13‑22 April, with a variety of different activities such as sporting, recreational, cultural, environmental and developmental activities highlighting the talents and achievements of the Territory’s youth. Young people aged between 12 to 25 years are encouraged to take part in the diverse range of drug and alcohol-free events and activities on offer during the week.

The NYW 2012 Young Member for the NT is Kenneth Kadirgamar, a 19 year old engineering student at Charles Darwin University. To find out more about Kenneth check out his profile.
