National Youth Week in Tasmania
The message from the Tasmanian (TAS) Minister for Youth is available on the TAS Minister's page.
National Youth Week (NYW) 2012 in Tasmania is a way to ensure that young people come together to celebrate and recognise the value and contributions they make to their communities.
No matter where you live, what you do or what you’re interested in, there are plenty of opportunities for young Tasmanians to Imagine. Create. Inspire themselves and others in NYW 2012.
The Tasmania Government supports the involvement of young people in the delivery of NYW at the state level through youth membership on the NYW Steering Committee and by talking to young people about what they want from the annual celebration. The Government also focuses on funding events that young people have been instrumental in developing.
The Tasmania Government has provided more than $40 000 in 2012 in grants to a broad range of community organisations and local governments to support 27 NYW events and activities through its NYW Community Grants Program. Read more about the events funded in 2012.
Schools are also invited to apply for $300 grants to help students develop and deliver an event for NYW 2012 or to provide transport for students to events in their area. Applications close on 9 March. Guidelines and application forms are available on the Tasmanian Department of Premier and Cabinet website.
National Youth Week in Tasmania is supported by the Tasmanian Government’s Department of Premier and Cabinet and youthbeyondblue.
